Meet TRACE at this year’s Loop Forum on April 28–29, 2026
Meet TRACE at this year’s Loop Forum, where we will present results and insights from the TRACE projects through four inspiring talks on the Circular Lifestyle Stage.
At this year’s Loop Forum, Lifestyle and Design Cluster has its own stage and a full day dedicated to circular transition. The focus is on practical implementation, new business opportunities, and what it takes to rethink products, systems, and value chains.
Join us and experience TRACE sessions on the Circular Lifestyle Stage.

11:00–11:45 Legislation that Promotes the Circular Economy – What Does It Take?
How can legislation be transformed from being a barrier to support companies in fully achieving their ambitions for transitioning to a circular economy? The TRACE partnership presents concrete industry cases as well as recommendations for driving this transition.
Join and contribute when the TRACE partnership presents consolidated insights into the legislative barriers that hinder the transition to a circular economy. From environmental permits and rules for cross-border transport to the classification of waste, new materials, and innovative recycling pathways — gain insight into where the system restricts development and what it will take to create real change.
At the event, TRACE will launch its new white paper, highlighting concrete examples, key insights, and action-oriented recommendations to overcome regulatory barriers and accelerate a scalable circular economy.

14.00–14.45 Imagine a world where consuming less feels like gaining more freedom
Imagine a world where we don’t automatically buy something new, but instead use, repair, and adapt what we already have. A world where workwear is designed to last for decades rather than seasons, and where furniture in offices, schools, and hospitals is deliberately chosen for long lifespan, flexibility, and repairability. Resource consumption in the textile and furniture sectors is enormous, and public procurement—because of its scale—can act as a powerful lever for creating a circular economy by opening the market to products with high quality, durability, repairability, recyclability, and new business models. The discussion will explore how we can make circular solutions the most attractive choice.

15.00–15.45 Design for Circularity in TRACE
Join us to hear researchers from a diverse portfolio of projects across the TRACE mission partnership share insights and results from their work on product-related circularity challenges.
The TRACE mission aims to build circular ecosystems across all phases of the value chain. This talk focuses on the pillar of ‘Design & Production’, showcasing experimental and design-driven innovation that enables products to achieve longer use phases and lifetime service systems. The talk will showcase results from a broad portfolio of projects carried out in collaboration with a diverse range of external partners. The session will also include an interactive quiz with a prize for one sharp and observant audience member!

10.00–10.45 TRACE & Co-Creators: Co-creating digital infrastructure for circular transition
How can shared data and AI infrastructure support the scaling of circular solutions – while also strengthening European data sovereignty?
Circular economy initiatives are emerging across value chains and sectors, each contributing important solutions and insights. Yet the transition is often slowed by fragmented efforts, limited comparability, and insufficient opportunities to collect and share learning across projects. This session highlights the need for shared digital transition infrastructure as a foundation for accelerating the circular shift. Building on the TRACE Platform and TRACE Data Space, it presents a concrete example of how AI and EU‑based data infrastructure can support systemic learning, reduce implementation uncertainty, and strengthen European resilience.
