Agroindustrial side-streams will be exploited for cellulose nanofibers (CNF) that will form the basis for composite manufacture.

The aim of the project is to adopt  and reverse material resource planning approach to increase the inclusion, utilization, quality and circularity of recycled plastic.

Proving the technology with design for disassembly as a key enabler for manufacturers to prepare product and materials for circularity.

The vision is to demonstrate viable, circular value chains and implementation pathways for recycling of household waste plastics, and that such implementation can substantially support the Danish recycling requirements and CO₂ reduction targets.

The vision is to enable companies to use recycled plastics in their products to the highest possible value application, preferably in their own products.

Every year, around 500 million disposable diapers are used in Denmark, equivalent to 50-100,000 tons of diaper waste. Of this, 10-15,000 tons are plastic waste (including plastic fibers). The diaper consumption accounts for approximately 100,000 tons of CO2-equivalent emissions in production and disposal.
