Tex2AM - Textile to Additive Manufacturing
Project Period: January 2025 - December 2026
Project Status: In progress Pool: TRACE Pool 2.2
Lead: Dansk AM Hub
Tex2AM aims to transform low-value textile waste into sustainable 3D printing material using thermo-mechanical recycling. The project creates a new circular value chain between the textile and manufacturing industries by converting hard-to-recycle textiles into usable polymer filament or pellets. By developing this innovative material and testing real-world applications, Tex2AM promotes local production, reduces CO₂ emissions, and strengthens Denmark’s position in sustainable manufacturing. The project also includes a commercial model to support industry adoption and scalability.
Project Partners: Dansk AM Hub, NewRetex, Technical University of Denmark, ELDAN RECYCLING A/S, Nordic Extrusion, MDT Flexible Products
